There's something about Bach's music that makes things whole. I'm grateful to Bach for being the scientist composer he was, to take all of what he knew about human nature – tragedy, comedy, joy, sorrow – and present this in the Bach cello suites. The true genius, then, was in making the listener ear subconsciously fill in the gaps – that's why, to me, people in need feel like they are being helped when they listen.
